The Roslin and Bilston areas are shared between two Midlothian Councillors, Russell Imrie and Keith McIntosh. Both are members of the majority Labour Group.

Broadly speaking, if we take Main Street, Roslin as a dividing line, Russell's ward includes the area to the south and Keith's the area to the north plus the whole of Bilston.

At least one, but usually both, Councillors attend meetings of the Community Council.

Welcoming the production of a newsletter, Russell said "The Community Council do a great job in looking after the interests of the people of Roslin and Bilston. We find it an invaluable forum to hear about community concerns as well as allowing us to keep the
community informed about Council developments and plans. We would encourage more residents to become actively involved."

Echoing Russells remarks, Keith added "I would hope that the imminent consultation process on the next Midlothian Local Plan would increase community participation in the Community Council as a convenient sounding board to influence Midlothian Council policy. We need to be clear about the views of the whole community and the Community Council is a ready-made channel of communication."
