PREVIOUS MINUTES The minutes from the August meeting were proposed by J. Collins
and seconded by S. Kay. 3
POLICE REPORT 3.1 There have been 17 reported crimes during August. 5 of these
crimes have been solved. 3.2 A trial project has been ongoing in Roslin this
month involving usage of the mobile CCTV van normally used at Straition. It has
been in the village on several occasions this month and there have also been a
number of plain clothed and uniformed youth initiatives. 4
TREASURER'S REPORT The balance on 31 August 2006 was £755.30. 5
ENVIRONMENT REPORT Nothing to report. 6
TRANSPORT REPORT 6.1 From the 1 October 2006 an improved 7 day no. 15 bus service
will operate. This means that there will be a bus service on public holidays and
at weekends. The temporary measures introduced during the summer will now be made
permanent. 6.2 Permission has been granted to allow the introduction of a new
bus stop at the new doctors surgery on both sides of Penicuik Road. 7
CORRESPONDENCE 7.1 Membership for the Association of Scottish Community Councils. 7.2

PLANNING 8.1 Mr G Stewart, installation of replacement windows at 22B Main
Street, Roslin. No opposition. 8.2 Roslin Glen Conservation Area - the contractor
for Scottish Power has notified the Council of work being required to render a
number of power lines safe in the above conservation area. The work consists mainly
of brush clearance and coppicing under the power lines and side pruning of trees
adjacent to power lines in the area of Roslin Glen south of Mountmarle. 8.3
Midlothian Council, installation of access ramp to front of dwelling at 10 St
Clair Crescent, Roslin. No opposition. 9 ANY OTHER BUSINESS 9.1 Cllr.
K. McIntosh has been looking into the issues raised at the last meeting about
the Bilston Inn and has been consulting with the Planning and Licensing board.
There may be a requirement for planning permission for the fence. 9.2 Roslin
Library will be closed from 2 October to the 28 October for refurbishment. 9.3
Cllr. K. McIntosh, Cllr. R. Imrie and PC. Murie have arranged a meeting in response
to a petition to remove the bus shelter on Main Street and the corner of St Clair
Crescent. J. Collins, D. Dignan and M. Ewart will attend the meeting on behalf
of the committee. 10
NEXT MEETING The next meeting of the community council is the annual general
meeting on Tuesday 19 September at 8pm in Bilston Pavilion. The
meeting closed at 9.35pm
