1 MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

The minutes of the March meeting were proposed by J. Collins and seconded by D. Hogg.

2 APOLOGIES

There were no apologies.

3 POLICE REPORT

3.1 No Police Report available.
3.2 It was decided that a letter be written to Inspector Cameron Rose, Penicuik Police Station saying that no representative from the Police has been at the meetings since 2003 and to invite the Inspector to a meeting as many residents have questions they would like to ask him regarding issues in the villages.

4 TREASURER'S REPORT

The balance on 25 February 2004 was £1412.10.

5 TRANSPORT REPORT

5.1 M. Devlin raised the issue that there was a problem of persistent speeding in Wallace Crescent, Roslin. The Committee noted this and gave her advice on how to deal with this situation.

6 ENVIRONMENT REPORT

6.1 A letter was received from the Dog Aid Society in reply to a previous letter sent to them.
6.2 After discussion and a letter received from Roslin Heritage Society it was decided that the petition for Roslin public toilets should go ahead.
6.3 A letter was received from Mrs J. Anderson regarding several issues about litter and tidiness of both villages. Because the issues she raised were the direct responsibility of Commercial Services her letter is to be forwarded to Bob Page.

7 PLANNING

7.1 Waste Recycling Group, Scottish regional Office, Oatslie Sandpit landfill Site, Cleugh Road, Roslin. Amendment to planning permission 01/00106/ful (condition 7) to allow certain operations on Sundays at Oatslie Sandpit Landfill Site, Oatslie Road, Roslin. No opposition.
7.2 Mr and Mrs Skinner Erection of a conservatory at 1 Moat View, Roslin. No opposition.
7.3 Alexander Townsley Gordon, Carnethy View, Bilston Application to extend the period of time for construction of 6 flats (amendments to planning permission 0028/99) at land at Burnbank Terrace, Bilston. No opposition.
7.4 New Park Management Ltd change of use of land from greenhouses to office use (Class 4) at land adjacent to Pentlandfield Business Park, Bilston. No opposition.
7.5 Mr and Mrs Bryant erection of a conservatory at 4 Pentland Court, Bilston. No opposition.

8 COMMUNITY WEBSITE

An update to the Roslin and Bilston Pensioners Association page was received and will be updated online soon.
