1 MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

The minutes of the February meeting were proposed by M. Gordon and seconded by D. Watson.

2 APOLOGIES

Apologies received from S. Kay and F. Renton.

3 POLICE REPORT

No Police Report available.

4 TREASURER'S REPORT

The balance on 25 February 2004 was £1412.10.

£332.09 was received from a Midlothian Council grant.

5 TRANSPORT REPORT

5.1 A reply was received from Bob Page, Director of Commercial Services about previous transport issues. The Community Council read and accepted its contents.
5.2 K. McIntosh informed the committee that 8 sets of speed bumps are going to be installed on Seafield Road during March and April.
5.3 A safe traffic island crossing is going to be installed at the beginning of April on the main road in Bilston.
5.4 Committee has noticed the rising number of untaxed cars in Bilston.
5.5 Attention was drawn to a caravan parked in the street on Seafield Road, Bilston.

6 ENVIRONMENT REPORT

6.1 The committee is monitoring the dog fouling problem in Roslin and Bilston.
6.2 Public opinion about the re-instalment of Public Toilets in Roslin is to be sought with Signature Sheets being handed to Roslin Community Hall, Roslin Post Office and Rosslyn Chapel.
6.3 K. McIntosh informed the committee that the path between Bilston Park and Seafield Road, Bilston has been cleared.

7 PLANNING

7.1 Medical Centres (Scotland Ltd, Craigston Heights, Peterculter, Aberdeen. Erection of a medical centre and pharmacy, with associated landscaping, car parking and boundary fences at the land on the north side of Penicuik Road, Roslin. No opposition.
7.2 Waste Recycling Group, Scottish Regional Office, Oatslie Sandpit Landfill Site, Cleugh Road, Roslin, Midlothian. Amendment to planning permission 01/00106/ful (condition 7) to allow certain operations on Sundays at Oatslie sandpit Landfill Site, Oatslie Road, Roslin. No opposition.
7.3 Mr and Mrs Wright, 9 Charlton Grove, Roslin. Extension to dwellinghouse. No opposition.
7.4 James Bell, 19 Penicuik Road, Roslin. Erection of a conservatory, extension to garage and dormer extension. No opposition.
7.5 Mr Arif Iqbal, 7 Wallace Crescent, Roslin. Installation of vehicle access and driveway.

7 COMMUNITY WEBSITE

An update to the Community website is expected soon. Some villagers have been taking a good interest in the website.
