TREASURER'S REPORT
The
balance on December 31 2003 was £1193.96.

TRANSPORT REPORT
4.1
With the recent bad weather conditions the issue of flooding brought
up. M. Ewart is to write the council about flooding on the slip
road between Park Avenue and Castlelaw Crescent, Bilston; Continual
flooding on Seafield Road opposite the BT Telephone Exchange since
1985; Continual flooding at the bottom of Langhill.
4.2 The question was raised about what had happened to the bus
shelter at the Bilston Cottages, Roslin North Road. M. Ewart to
write to Midlothian Council.
4.3 Members raised the issue about the condition of some roads
in the villages. M. Ewart to write to Midlothian Council about
major repair work on Langhill, Bilston to Roslin road; Seafield
Road, Bilston; Pentland View Terrace, Pentland View Road, Pentland
View Place leading to Roslin Primary School. It is to be made
clear in the letter that more than a temporary is needed.

ENVIRONMENT REPORT
5.1
M. Gordon raised the matter of the lack of litter bins in Bilston.
Suggestion were made for litter bins to be placed in the Public
Park, Bus Stops, outside the premises of Stewart and Waterson,
Park Avenue and Castlelaw Crescent. M. Ewart to write to Midlothian
Council
5.2 M. Gordon raised the matter of the amount of dog excrement
in Castlelaw Crescent and Seafield Road, Bilston. M. Ewart to
write to Environmental Health.

PLANNING
Mr
J McHale, Dalhousie Lodge, Rosewell Road, Bonnyrigg. Erection
of dwelling house and upgrading of access at Garage Site between
8 and 10 Stanley Avenue, Bilston. No opposition.

COMMUNITY WEBSITE
M.
Ewart has received some replies to the questionnaires sent out
to local groups, clubs, businesses and establishments. More are
expected before the cut off date on Friday 23 January 2004. Mr
Ewart also presented a copy of the questionnaires and covering
letters to the council. A public demonstration of the website
before it goes online will be held at the next meeting in February.
